As the end of August approaches, I feel that familiar shift. Summer’s long days are giving way to the promise of fall, and with it comes one of my favorite traditions: announcing new products for my online shop. This is the moment I get to take the wildlife encounters that made my heart race in the field and turn them into something you can hold, use, or hang in your home or office.

Creating these pieces is never quick. Some products take three months, others as long as nine. Sometimes the choice is obvious, a photograph that resonates deeply on social media or stops me in my tracks while editing. Other times it is a suggestion from a friend or family member who says, “That one belongs on a bag” or “I can see that as a pillow.” And always, it comes down to the photo itself: the composition, the moment, the feeling it captures.

Since 2017, my flagship product has been the Wild New York Calendar, and every year it challenges me to curate fourteen images from thousands. This season I am especially proud to share Wild New York 2026 alongside a collection of new pillow covers, calendar magnets, a scarf, reusable bags, and framed prints.

The Flagship: Wild New York 2026 Calendar

The calendar has always been my way of bringing New York’s wildness into everyday life. It is functional with federal, religious, and cultural holidays noted, but it is also a piece of art. Something you can hang in the kitchen, the office, or the living room, and revisit every day of the year.

This year’s cover features a Great Blue Heron, photographed at Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge. I will never forget the moment: wings outstretched, legs trailing, a face set with determination. To me, it felt like the very spirit of Wild New York reaching skyward.

Inside, each month tells its own story. January begins with a Snowy Owl at Shirley Chisholm State Park in Brooklyn. Other highlights include the unforgettable Fork-tailed Flycatcher on Randall’s Island, the Blue Grosbeak that was discovered in Central Park during spring migration, and the American Lady Butterfly photographed in New York City.

For a limited time, I am offering an early bird special: the 2026 calendar will remain at last year’s price for the first two weeks of release. While printing costs have risen, I want to keep this tradition as accessible as possible.

Alongside the calendar, I am also releasing several new products that feature my wildlife photography. These include pillow covers, a custom-designed scarf, puzzles, tote bags, and more. Each product is created to make the experience of wildlife photography a part of everyday life. I have always wanted my work to go beyond prints, and these functional pieces are a way of sharing the joy of wildlife in new and meaningful ways.

Wild New York 2026 Calendar Magnets - Set of 4

This year I wanted to create something functional and fun, and something that extends the Wild New York 2026 collection. Magnets felt like the perfect way to do it. Each five inches  by seven inches magnet includes the months and dates of 2026, so if you do not have space for a full calendar, you can still carry a year of wildlife on your fridge or file cabinet. Sold as a set of four.

It is a new format for me, and I am excited to see these small but striking pieces head out into the world.

Alongside these new releases, I have also taken time to expand my framed print collections, each one created with the same care and attention that goes into the rest of my work.

Every framed print begins with a moment in the field that stopped me in my tracks, a flash of wild beauty captured through my lens. From there, I take great care in printing with archival inks on fine cotton paper and selecting frames that bring each image to life. Each piece is more than a photograph. It is a memory, a connection to the natural world, and a way to bring that feeling into your home.

This collection now includes every photograph from the 2026 calendar. You can choose from portrait or landscape layouts, each crop carefully curated to preserve the story and the emotion of the moment. My standard size is eleven by fourteen inches, framed at sixteen by twenty inches in a black frame with double matting. I also offer a smaller edition, five and one half by three and one half inches, framed at nine by seven inches, also double matted and under glass.

Each framed print is crafted to hold a story, and I invite you to explore the collection to find one that brings the wild into your space and becomes part of your own story.

Common Yellowthroat - Bryant Park, Manhattan - Pillow Cover 2.0

Over the past year, I have learned so much from feedback on my pillow covers, from fabric choices to design tweaks, and I have channeled that into a brand new collection. These covers are made from ultra soft fabric that is perfect for everyday comfort, and they feature an invisible zipper for a clean finish. I consider this my Pillow Collection 2.0.

For the images, I went beyond New York, including three from the Palm Springs Collection  and two as a preview of my upcoming Yellowstone National Park series. Still, one design remains firmly rooted in NYC: the Common Yellowthroat from Bryant Park.

Each cover is eighteen inches by eighteen inches , machine washable, and designed to bring a piece of the wild directly into your living space.

One of the projects I have been dreaming about for years has been creating a fashion piece. This season it is finally here: a satin chiffon scarf featuring the Blue Grosbeak from Central Park.

At just over twenty-one inches by twenty-one inches, with stitched edges and a soft, lightweight drape, this scarf is more than an accessory. It is wearable art. The design highlights the bird against a softened background, framed by a decorative border, making it a piece that feels both modern and timeless.

Reusable Wildlife Bags (Coming Soon)

I have offered reusable bags before, but this year I have refined them. Made from polyester fabric that is water resistant and easy to clean, these bags fold neatly into a compact rectangle, small enough to slip into a back pocket or keep in the corner of another bag. You can pre-order now!

More Wildlife to Explore: Puzzles, Tea Towels, and Pins

Alongside these headline items, I am excited to share more of the products from the shop:

Each of these pieces carries the same philosophy: functional art, created in small runs from original wildlife photography.

Closing Thoughts: Bringing the Wild Into Your Home

Every product I release begins with a moment in the field, a heartbeat quickening when I see a bird lift off, or a rare visitor appear where it should not be. That excitement carries through the entire process, from mockups to printing to final product.

All of these items are produced in limited runs, using the best materials I can source. I offer free ground shipping within the continental United States, and as a special thank you, each order this season will also include a free gift.

Sharing these projects is always personal for me. I pour my time, energy, and heart into each piece, hoping they bring the same joy to others that I feel when I am out in the field. From calendars and pillow covers to scarves and framed prints, each item is an extension of my photography and a way to connect more people with the wild side of New York and beyond.

I invite you to explore the new collection at DennisNewsham.com. Whether it is a puzzle for a rainy day, a pillow for your couch, or a calendar for your wall, I hope each piece helps you bring a little wild into your life every day.
